The day you’ve been building up to for months is finally here, and although you’re very excited, you’re probably very stressed as well. You want everything to run smoothly so that your special day is one to remember.
Here are some useful tips to ensure your food is timed to perfection on your wedding day –
- If you are having a three-course meal as your first meal as a married couple, you need to give a considerable amount of time for service. Obviously service depends on the amount of guests you have, but give yourself around two hours for the service from start to finish.
- Cutting the cake is a significant part of your wedding day and a popular option is to serve hot drinks to your guests at the same time. It’s best you serve your cake during the reception, as your guests will most likely be full from the meal. This part should only take around half an hour, and before you know it, your reception will be starting!
- Another thing to consider is when you want the bar to open. It can be a nightmare for the photographer trying to co-ordinate people for photos if people have drinks in their hand. Having to wait for guests to put their drink down slows the process, and will therefore impact the timings of the rest of the day.
- There is no need to bring the evening buffet out until fairly late on in the evening, as most guests will be full from the wedding breakfast. Don’t stress about timings for the evening buffet, as the guests can decide for themselves when to eat, just enjoy your evening!
